2017 Student Paper Competition
ELIGIBILITY:
- Students must be currently enrolled at undergraduate or graduate level at any Canadian college or university
- Students must be the sole author of the submission
SUBMISSIONS:
- Submissions should follow the guidelines of The Canadian Journal of Disability Studies, a peer-reviewed journal (please see http://cjds.uwaterloo.ca/index.php/cjds/about/submissions)
- Only original work is to be submitted
- Only unpublished work is to be submitted
- Work should aim to make substantive contributions to knowledge
- Students should demonstrate how their work is situated within the discipline and within existing literature, specifically regarding this year’s conference theme of “From far and Wide: The Next 150.” Submissions should not exceed 7,000 words including references
- Papers will be peer-reviewed by disability studies undergrad and graduate students.
REWARDS FOR TOP THREE SUBMISSIONS:
- Monetary reward (first place: $500, second place: $300, third place: $200)
- Reserved spot to present at the 2017 CDSA-ACEI Conference. Please note: The award winners are not required to attend and present at the CDSA-ACEI conference and CDSA-ACEI cannot cover the cost of travel to the conference. However, CDSA-ACEI has a number of student scholarships available to help cover the cost of attending this conference. Applicants to this competition are welcome to apply for a student scholarship. - Opportunity to submit to Canadian Journal of Disability Studies for peer-review
